Those Two-Faced Apples...

This was pretty much the exact thought process as I was eating an apple.
Eating, Eating, Eating.... got to the core...
Apparently those apple seeds contain enough cyanide to kill a small animal if they ate enough of them. Apples are confusing... They get all big and inviting saying come eat me and then they have little toxic capsules inside. Technically, as I learned in my biology class in high school, fruit are the swollen ovaries of the plant used to attract animals so that they will eat the fruit and eventually deposit, to put nicely, the seeds all fertilized in the soil so another plant can grow. So, if the goal is dispersion to extend the family tree, pun intended, then why are they trying to kill off the animals used in the process? I guess apple trees don't like small animals, just like I dislike small yappy dogs.

Wow, it's been over a year since I've posted anything here. I've been extremely busy, and those darn random thoughts are getting in the way. I guess I'll catch you up on my life.... I'm a Senior in college!!!! I'm a Chemistry major and am currently avoiding my piles of homework and the massive Chemistry GRE test I have to take on Saturday... I'm in the honors program and have to write a big fat thesis next semester just so that I can have the words "with Honors" on my diploma. I'm taking about 18 hours of lab a week plus super easy, blow-off classes like Physical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis... Pretty much everyone fails the class and the professor curves it so that most people can just barely pass. Last test average = 38.... ya..... Other than school, I've really been missing painting and playing piano and saxophone.
I really don't know why I'm endowed with all these talents when other people can't catch a break. I'm extremely blessed I guess... not to mention the great family and good health. Life's not fair in that way. I seem to have everything and all I complain about is how busy I am with homework when some people would love to go to school or just have enough food for 3 meals a day. It just doesn't make sense... Why can't we all just have marginally mediocre lives and gifts... I guess then the world wouldn't really progress without the genius ideas and inventions of the above average minded. I still think that if the hundreds of millions of dollars given out to individuals from the lottery or for playing a sport or regurgitating some lines would be given out among the poor the world would be better off. But anyways, that's basically what I've been doing for the last year and for now I will just say that I shall try to keep up to date with posting.
